 BASKETBALL & CHEERING TRYOUTS  2016/17

Basketball tryouts for students in grades 7 & 8 will begin on Monday, November 7, 2016.

Cheering tryouts for students in grades 7 & 8 will begin on Monday, November 28, 2016.

These “Winter Athletic” teams include: “7th and 8th Grade Cheering”, “8th Grade Boys Basketball”, “8th Grade Girls Basketball”, “7th Grade Boys Basketball”,  “7th Grade Girls Basketball”.  League rules state that if a student is in the 8th grade they must play on the “8th grade team” and a student that is in the 7th grade must play on the “7th grade team”.  Students may only “play up a grade” if there are not enough players to fill out the roster.  Sign ups for these sports will be posted outside the locker rooms starting October 24th.

Students who wish to “tryout” for the teams must be on the schools “physicals” list. This list is compiled by the school nurse, Mrs. Collins, from physicals that were given over the summer here at school or physicals that were performed by a family doctor and the paperwork turned in to the nurses office. Physicals are good for one year from the date of the exam.  If a physical runs out during the season the student/athlete will automatically become ineligible on that date, and remain ineligible until an updated physical form is turned in.  The “Physicals List” is posted on the bulletin board outside the locker rooms.  Please make sure your name is on the list before coming to tryouts.

TRYOUT TIMES & LOCATION:  SEE ABOVE UPDATED TIMES. WE ONLY HAVE ACCESS TO ONE GYM AT THE HIGH SCHOOL NOW.

THIS INCLUDES LAPTOP COMPUTERS!!!!

Physicals: You must have a valid “physical” on file with the school nurse in order to participate.  If you had a “physical” over the summer here at the school you are automatically on the list.  If you had a “physical” from your family doctor you need to turn in a copy of the physical to the school nurse to be added to the list.  “Physicals” are good for one year from the date of the physical.  If your physical expires during the season you will not be able to participate until you get an updated one.
