Joshua Gould - Principal
Josh holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Joseph's College, a Master of Science in Teaching and Learning from St. Joseph's College, and a Certificate in Management and Leadership from Harvard University. Inducted into the Maine Teaching Hall of Fame in 2008, Josh previously taught high school English at Noble High School prior to serving as the assistant principal at Wells High School for five years. Josh taught within the education department at the University of New Hampshire's Live, Learn, and Teach program for 8 years.
A voracious reader, Josh also enjoys fly fishing and spending time on the lake.

Don Abbott - Assistant Principal
Don holds a B.S. degree in Political Science from the University of Maine. In addition, he is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine's Extended Teacher Education Program, and holds administrative credentials through Southern New Hampshire University's Maine Educator's Consortium. Prior to becoming assistant principal, Don spent 23 years as a 5th grade teacher at Wells Junior High School. He also was the girls varsity basketball coach for 16 years at Wells High School.
An avid Boston sports fan, Don enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer, two sons Devin and Ryan, and their dog Rocky at the family camp on the lake.

Justin Crowley - School Resource Officer
School Resource Officer (SRO) Justin Crowley grew up in the town of Waterboro and graduated from Massabesic High School. He went on to study Criminal Justice at Southern Maine Community College where he earned an associate’s degree.
Justin has three years of experience in law enforcement, starting as a summer reserve in Wells in the summer of 2020. He attended the 18-week Basic Law Enforcement Training Program in the winter of 2021. In 2022, Justin was awarded the Department Heroism Award along with others for their response to Sanford High School's active shooter threat. Justin is proud to be working as the SRO at the Wells Jr High School.
In his free time he enjoys fishing, playing with his dogs, and coaching high school lacrosse for Massabesic.

Kristie Soucy - School Counselor
Kristie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and her Master's degree in Education, also from the University of New Hampshire. She has worked as a Guidance Counselor for the past 22 years, almost exclusively in Middle Schools.
She has two wonderful children, Grace (21, who is currently working on her Master’s degree in accounting at Merrimack College), and Elise (18, who is studying elementary education at St. Joseph’s College of Maine).
Kristie enjoys spending time watching her girls swim, time with her friends, cooking, and reading with her kitties.

Melissa Manning - School Social Worker
Melissa earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Maine, and her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine. She has eight years of experience in providing Mental Health services to students and families. This is Melissa's third year at WJHS, and her second in the role as School Social Worker.
Melissa has a passion for animals and even runs the local dog friendly cafe on Wells Beach in the summertime.
She enjoys hiking and snuggling with her two dogs Camber and Loki.

Erin DeMauro - School Nurse
Erin graduated with her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from the University of New Brunswick in Canada. She has worked as a Nurse on the Seacoast for the past 25 years, the majority of her career has been spent in Labor and Delivery and Pediatrics at York Hospital.
Erin has 3 children that keep her very busy when she is not at work. Her favorite things are spending time at the beach and visiting with friends and family.
